I have known Bill for decades as a friend and a member and officer (elder/deacon) of our church. This is an elected position, and speaks to the memberships general assessment of the character, ethics and reliability of the member. Furthermore, on many occasions, Bill Price would provide pro bono advice to members or friends of members that were in a jam and without resources to pay an attorney. Whenever there was a legal question, “let’s ask Bill about that” was often the suggestion.

The Illinois State Bar Association General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section Council has announced that Warrenville attorney William A. Price will receive the 2010-2011 ISBA Matthew Maloney Tradition of Excellence Award at its annual meeting later this month. The General Practice Section Council gives this award annually to an attorney who has been in practice for a minimum of 20 years and who exhibits the kind of passion, zealous advocacy and personal service to the profession and to the bar of Illinois as did Princeton attorney Matthew Maloney, the past chair of the ISBA General Practice Section council for who the award is named.
When the section council reviews nominations for awardees, important aspects of the candidates’ careers include their contributions to continuing legal education and to public service in their community. Bill Price has been active in the Administrative Law and the Corporations, Securities and Business Law Section Councils for decades. For Administrative Law, Bill has been serving as newsletter editor for many years and has now started organizing chapter authors for the third edition of the ISBA’s Illinois Administrative Law handbook that he has edited. His many years of corporations work with the ISBA and the Illinois Secretary of State’s Institute of Business law have included serving on and chairing committees responsible for writing and revising Illinois’ Limited Liability Companies law.
Bill runs a law practice in Warrenville, IL (growthlaw.com), that handles mostly business issues: regulatory issues, transactions, and business financing (sale, purchase, recapitalization). He also handles general law, including trusts and estate planning. He currently has a handful of civil trial cases moving forward as well, including an appeal involving an attempt to gain restitution for several dozen Hispanic families defrauded in a Ponzi scheme.
